Just what I needed. It’s not the top brand quality fit and finish but it does the jobs I bought it for for a whole lot less money.

It is a great tool and a must-have for engraving and stone setting. Solid, smooth, and easy to use—it makes precision work much easier. Highly recommended!

Nice, but you WILL need to use up a pint or two of degreaser.

Let's be honest. It's from China. It is covered with a thin, but very smelly, coat of chinesium. The base looks like a small, real rubber, industrial, tire, and smells JUST LIKE the PA farmshow. ( which is NOT a bad thing. You know if you know...) You WILL need to thoroughly clean and degrease this thing, cause it smells horrible, the grease will get all over EVERYTHING. I had to take it to pieces, and washed it off with brakleen. Both to get the grease off, and to clean off an AWFUL LOT of small chips, which were grinding inside the vise ways and screw. It was VERY crunchy. Once you get it clean, well, mine is fairly smooth, and will likely wear in over time. The fit on the pin-pieces is blond one tight. They wouldn't actually go in until after I washed all the machining grit off. AGAIN, this is NOT a negative. The 5 inch I got is machined to very tight tolerances. I don't own another vise like this, and won't be getting another one until someone shows me something 5 times better. Which I don't see happening soon.

This Ball Vice is a great item for jewellery making. It is quite heavy but it needs to be for effectiveness. The 'extras' make the ball vice a completely useful bench tool.

Laser engraving

I have used this a couple of times for engraving. I like the weight and the ability to manipulate its holding stance.

Great starter ball vise better than i expected everything works smoothly and love all the extra parts makes it more versatile and the finish is nice aswell one recomodaion tho is it would be a good idea to get a rubber base for it ... it comes with 2 plastic ones and makes it a little to slippery

Handy tool, good price fixtures are nice especially the ring fixture, good price, only slight glass is the cinching ring doesn't seat easily, don't know whether it's the plastic material or loose tolerenceof the 2 metal portions. Other than that great value!!

Another the brand's product thats a great value. Not quite the quality of a Steve Lindsey or even a grs ball vice but for a 10th of the price you cant go wrong. Again Another tool that just works and dose as intended

Verry pleasently suprised with the sturdines! And the overeall quality is verry good! The weight is high enough to hold the vice at the table if it's not to smooth. I fashioned a workplace with a plywood table and that is enough of a course table top to hold the vice in place. Would highly reccomend!

Improved, almost there!

This version of the ball vise (with the plastic handle) fixes many of the earlier complaints. The pins on the top plates (see photo) screw in so it can be a fixed position or swivel like the older model. The top attachments with the small pins fit nice and snug. The problem is that the larger pins are a bit too slim. When clamped, the top plate forms a V. When using the plate clamp to hold a coin, the walls are not vertical enough to keep a tight grip. There are some small cosmetic issues that I normally wouldn't mention. For example, the parts holder is great. Except the two wings don't fit any parts. There is no place for the handle or ring mandrels. Does not affect use, but poor attention to detail.

The brand has corrected the loose tolerances commonly afflicting Chinese made ball vises. It turns smooth as mayonnaise, flawlessly. No wobble.ock hold vise in any desired position. Fit and finish is top shelf. Don't spend $800+ on the so called "brand name" vise. This one works fine. It also looks lovely.

worth the savings

worth the price, if you are a hobbyist, it is worth the savings compared to others in my opinion. I can't compare to more expensive units but i am happy with what I have purchased from the brand. The item was shipped fast and showed up in good condition. It works well without having to do any cleaning or modifications and saved me several hundred dollars. I Don't make jewelry so I can't tell you if it's worth the saving for the professional jeweler. I hope this helps.

This 5” ball vise is pretty nice for the money. Jaws close tight and even. Ball spins smoothly. Rotational lock screw has good spring and lock pin. Smaller accessorie pins have slight movement, maybe 1mm. I tested all clamping features, and all hold satisfactory. Seems they have corrected previous issues. Good to see the brand is listening to their customers. This vise should serve me well into the future. I am happy with this purchase.

This ball vise is so sloppy it will not be possible to use. The machining tolerances are terrible. The vise jaws tilt about .025" on each side, the pins for the accessory jaws are loose and allow too much slop the bearing adjustment system does not work correctly. When adjusting the drag for rotation you basically have no rotation or full free rotation but you can't increase tension to have any drag. Also the smell is terrible, it is like a burning rubber smell.

I love this! I didn't want to invest in the super pricey one for my hobby jewelry making, so I ordered this and so far it's done everything I've needed. I use it to hold pieces to set stones (bezel settings) and it gives me so much more flexility getting the piece where I want it to smooth the bezel around evenly. I've used it with JettSet to hold a pendant where i need it while setting and it's been awesome. I've also used it for some dead lifts (not kidding) as it's super heavy and a nice, compact size, lol.

Price: Unbeatable. Material: Solid Steel and heavy like it should be. Operation: Easy- Usefull for any type of small precision works. I use for final adjustments in high precision mechanics for High tech optomechanic Equipments which a standard vise wont help due to complex shapes. Acessories: sufficent for most aplications- but a bonus you can make up your own which fit custom to the support.. The base in heavy hard rubber - well designed with running surfaces points integrated. The ball is in two parts and permitts rotating of upperhalf which is another bonus. Surfaces hardchromed so no rust here. In all . This product is a very well designed tool from the traditional old ball vises. Comparing the price- this tool cost at least a third form the traditional ones and has at least 6 times or more versatility than the compercial traditional ones. Its heavy (9kg) but if you are a Pro and want to work without hassle, buy this one , the lighter ones may not be that stable as this one and its a lifetime investment. to break it only with brute force or a sledge hammer and then even it can be fixed. for me its perfect and worth every Euro .

Great Product for a great price

This vise has made my bezel burnishing so much easier. Was previously using a vice clamped to the side of a work bench however that is now out the window. Being able to spin around as you work is so much better. Had to google as to what all the parts were that came with it as there are no instructions but eventually worked it out. So much cheaper than the GRS model but it works I would think just as good!
