Mercury Outboard Motor Throttle Control Box

Broken

Installed as a replacement for the original BRP Throttle for a 2009 Evinrude ETEC. Ignition component had an internal malfunction from new that when turning off the motor, it would blow the main power module fuse every time. Had the boat in the water up north but thankfully had additional fuses on board that I could replace. Local marine mechanic had a spare control box available and I was able to swap out just the ignition/key assembly. No issues since. Thankfully the mechanic was able to save the weekend for us.

This is garbage don’t buy this controller I had it installed by a professional and went to use it this weekend wouldn’t shift into reverse and the tilt button broke wouldn’t go up contacted them and they say that they don’t have records of me buying it tha re s not true so I sent them a picture and then said not good enough I had to get a video of what is wrong I’m not travelling for two hours to go out to camp and record a video this controller is junk go buy this from the dealer and spend the money

Nice unit, Only draw back is you have to splice the wiring. Haven't had time to install it, weather and other things more important at this time.

Do not buy , product suck and is made of cheap materials, ignition broke on me because it is made of plastic. Will never buy again, beware don’t buy if you don’t want to be dead on the water..

Shipped sooner than expected. Well packaged and protected. Almost identical to the Yamaha it replaced. Temporally connected to the motor to operate the tilt to lower the motor, it worked perfectly. Excellent quality.

It works

Claims to be for 2005 model year and newer. My engine is a 1987. It was plug and play. Only issues I’ve had is getting the throttle adjustment just the way I want it. Putting these controls in with the adjustments as they were the engine idled a little to high and once turned down a bit in not getting full throttle. That’s not the controls tho, they work great I just haven’t taken the time to fine tune the adjustments yet.

1995 Mercury 50 hp

Easy install! I have a 1995 Mercury 50hp 2 stroke. I replaced the original Quicksilver throttle assembly. Only issue appears to be that it feels really tight to move even with the tensioner totally loosened off. I’ve asked tech group for support.

Something broke

Efficient delivery. I got it installed, tested the lever and cables and something inside the unit broke. Back to square one.

Works but beware

Nice product! Looks just like a Quicksilver and seems sturdy so far. Packaging was also nice. Beware though that this control box is a “pull throttle” type not a “push throttle” type. My old Mercury throttle cable is a push to accelerate. With this box, it would have my motor wide open in neutral and idle in forward. It’s all to do with one arm curving upward rather than downward. Fortunately, I was able to use the armature off of my old broken control box, which also fit perfectly, to make it happen. The brand, maybe include in your description whether it’s a pull or a push.

Je ne recommande pas cette commande, elle a fait un an et la les axe intérieur qui sont en plastique ont cassé avec le froid , trop fragile la vis de réglage de tension à casser aussi car c'est tout en plastique très fin 200 Euros a la poubelle je suis vraiment déçue
