Never got it going

I bought it with new motor it took for ever to pump up tp 50lbs when it did the air was so hot the air smelled buernt I never got past 50 lbs I’m a mechanic of 50 yrs and can’t for the life of me figure it out I’ve changes pulleys to slow it down I’ve bought pulleys to peed it up it doesn’t matter 50 lbs and hotter than the devil when you bleed the air tank steam come out it’s so hot

Quite impressed

Yea my pump came covered in oil too. I powered this pump with a 1.5HP 1750 RPM motor. Using a 6.25" pulley on that 1750 RPM motor results in 1041 RPM on the pump. I was pleasantly surprised to see the pump achieved 9.2CFM @ 90psi at this speed (formula adjusted for atmospheric pressure @ 1000m above sea level). You could easily underdrive the pump for longevity and still exceed the modestly advertised 5.8 As long as the pump lasts, it's a great buy.

Excellent product!

After 6 years of operation my 26 gallon Kobalt Quiet Tech called it quits so ordered this up as an alternative to buying an entirely new setup. As others have said, took a bit of modification to the base plate for install, but other than that it’s a simple fix and a great alternative to entire replacement. Bonus: quieter than original and has slightly larger displacement. Buy it and swap out your old one, no regrets!

Very Quiet Compressor Upgrade with One Minor Limitation

This compressor pump and motor assembly worked great for my project. I used it to repair a broken Kobalt air compressor that I picked up on Facebook Marketplace for a steal. The original compressor pump had completely failed and had actually overheated badly enough to catch fire. This unit was nearly a direct replacement, using the same mounting holes as the original pump, so installation was straightforward. The first thing I noticed was how incredibly quiet it is. I was honestly surprised. You can stand right next to the compressor while it's running and carry on a normal conversation without raising your voice. For a small air compressor, that's exceptional. The dual-piston design built into the motor housing provides a smooth, consistent airflow, and the overall layout is very similar to the California Air Tools style compressors. If you're repairing or modifying a similar compressor, there's a good chance this unit will fit with little or no modification. Air output is adequate for general shop use. Manually crank and add oil before starting

The cylinder head is small but works well. The only thing is that before installing it, it must be moved manually and oil must be poured in. Everything else is ok.

Very noisy

After all the hassle, I installed the pump, and it sounds like it is ready to fall apart. Our garage is 100 feet from the house and every time I use it my wife tells me it sounds too loud. It sounds like a running ROD KNOCK.

Very quiet pump

I’m giving it 4 stars because 2 of the cooling fins broke off during shipping but it doesn’t seem to hurt it any. The pump is so much quieter than my old compressor pump and fills the tank to 150psi in no time

Performs as advertised

Pump works as expected, my compressor actually works better that it has ever done from new. its taking 4 1/2 mins to fill a 100lt tank to 8bar and is able to constantly supply my sand blast cabinet with 115 psi . Happy with the purchase.

It works. Pumps air. But no were near the CFM stated..it was to replace a head with the exact cfm rating it has. Peck 11 cfm at 90psi. It takes 3 times as long to fill my air tank. Will not keep up to my plasma table.my single cylinder 5.1 CFM 20 gallon tank spare compressor dose. That being said this unit dosen't even put out 5.1CFM let alone the rated 11 CFM.. Waste of money It is mounted on a 60 gallon tank. Campbell hausfeld unit same size pulleys same rating as the old head but dose not even come close to its rated air supply. Another instance of false specs from an off-shore company. The little red compressor in the photos is the 5.1. Cfm. And I teed it in to the big tank. As it keeps up with my plasma table. And the unit is just there for back up as it won't keep up to the table or air tools.. It's just a small single cylinder unit a with a small rating. But is twice the unit of the 2 cylinder 11 cfm unit. Buyer be wear. I have videos of the little unit filling the 80 gallon tanks in half the time as the new head I just installed on the tank. File is to big to up load

I have purchased many items from the brand and my last purchase was this air compressor put the first one ran for about 2 months with no issues untill it locked up I contacted the brand and they sent out a replacement so far the new pump is working really well hopefully this one last a while the brand for the win.

3 hp air compressor pump

Very good quality for the money. Easy to install with basic knowledge. The downside is, the drain plug for the oil change is impossible to drain unless you pull the pump off and turn it upside down..

Not cfm advertised

Unfortunately this pump takes significantly longer to reach cut out pressure then the 20 year old one it’s replacing The pump itself also gets unusually hot , I am very doubtful it will last Long at all

Note: read the manual when used with a 2 pole 2880 rpm. motor you should use a 100 mm 4” V pulley whel on the motor making the unit run with 1080 rpm.

I have a California Air Tools Compressor model 10020C that started making a lot of noise and had low output. This pump looked very similar and the specs were the same. The factory replacement pump was more than double the cost. This arrived quickly and packaged very well. There are a few minor differences but nothing that matters. In fact the main components look identical. If you feel comfortable changing out a pump then you will be fine. After replacement the compressor performed just like new. If you have a CAT 10020C then this is the replacement for you.

Excellent replacement

Great replacement for older loud oil-less compressors. Very quiet and accurate cfm rating. I did replace the included capacitor with a better one for quicker starting.

Nice compressor

This is a nice compressor. I used it to replace an Ingersol Rand S3 that was 26 years old and needed a new valve plate. The compressor was half the price of a new valve plate for the S3. So far it seems just as good as the S3.

Fits the Kobalt Quiet 26 Gallon

Awesome replacement for my 26 Gal Kobalt Quiet compressor. Had to modify the plate to get the feet to line up but that was it and it dropped right in. The supply hose is a little short but will work.

Air compressor

Will not start back up unless pressure drops below 20 + or - psi. It was super easy to install, but it will not start back up unless tank pressure drops really low.

Replacement air coompressor

Replaced my Craftsman compressor with the air compressor motor Max 145PSI. Super quiet. A little slower to fill, but I think if I increase the size of the pressure tube to match the compressor, it should fill faster.

Very good compressor, huge upgrade to CFM and also more quiet than the previous pump it was replacing it took a little retrofitting to get it mounted and air line connected, shroud position, but it all worked out. Wonderful pump, great value!

This is a generic pump head and probably does not fit any compressor. They picked up on my search criteria and added what I was looking for to their description. So it looked like it fit my compressor, but it did not. The mounting holes were way off. It took a couple of hours to get it installed on my compressor. It does work good though and the price I paid for it was worth the installation time. I do recommend this pump head if you have the ability to mount it correctly

Used this for my custom build

I had a 3/4 hp motor and I figured if it struggled to use this compressor head I would adjust the pulleys accordingly until it didn't struggle. I didn't change a thing, I just filled it with oil and put a belt on them and it works like a champ. I love how quiet it is. I don't need but maybe 90-110 psi and it works perfectly. It moves some air. The volume is great. I love this thing.

The boss hoss of Air compressors

Biggest piston type air compressor I’ve come across . 17.5CFM and two stage compression . This thing moves air more than a tornado ! Easily keeps up and actually laughs at my Die grinder at 100% . Tried two die grinders and it still keeps up ! With just the one tho , compressor will kick on and refill the tank and shut off very quickly . This has been an amazing compressor to use as I’m never ever having to wait for air to build back up . The only downside to it which still doesn’t deserve a lost star because of is the power needed to spin this monster ! Was gonna try a 10hp flat electric motor but didn’t wanna be just enough . Went with a 20HP motor which offcoarse is three phase . Which also isn’t common @ any residential hydro panel . To make this work I had to get a large VFD to take 220v split phase and make three phase to power the motor . It was quite the investment between the motor and vfd but the outcome is sooooo incredibly worth it ! Be warned do not buy this compressor head and think for a second a 5Hp motor is gonna be adequate . Once it stars getting up past 150psi the load is quite tremendous . Obviously the 20hp still doesn’t care but I’d be nervous to run a 10hp o…

Unfortunately I have had a lot of problems with this, it's very noisy, has constantly leaked oil from the breather and now quit pumping. I'm certain that the inlet valve are bad because it blows air out of the air filter. Unfortunately I had it for about a year before I installed it or I would send it back. I've purchased a lot of items from the brand and have had great success with them but this compressor was my first purchase and if I had used it right away I probably wouldn't have bought all the other items and tools that I have.

The finish quality isn't the best, you can see that it is a cheaper product than what you can buy locally but the price is unbeatable and it works very well. It builds pressure even faster than my other unit of comparable capacity that I bought from home depot. Will it last as long though? I don't know, but so far so good.

Great replacement for the non repairable 2hp motors on most run off the mill big store compressors.

Like the title states, good replacement for a standard 2hp motor on most of the medium/small compressors found at Canadian Tire/Walmart/Home Depot/PA. A standard replacement motor is more expensive and provides the same results (given the piston assembly is still intact as most of them are a combo of compressor and motor combined by the front motor plate). Picked up this bad boy as a replacement of both, required custom mounting and so on but its on, no wiring instructions but its not hard to figure out. All in all, looks like a good replacement option for the price, have it running at 140 psi cut off, 100 psi cut in pressures, definitely not 5.2 cfm but certainly higher CFM than the stock pump put out (after all, its a 2 piston design instead of 1). It's biggest advantage is the reduction in noise level, I can run it with the garage open now without worrying, my kids are no longer afraid of coming into the garage in fear of the compressor kicking in., conversations are no longer an issue either. Anyways, worth a try, that's for sure, even if its only due to the noise reduction at the expense of a little bit of fabrication.

My 80 gal compressor pump motor main shaft came loose on my compressor and messed up the shaft needed new pump motor this one saved me alot of money 💰 just check all bolts before installing to make sure they tight pumps up fast looks good hopefully it will last make sure to fill up oil reservoir

Good pump

I build a crompressor with this pump i use a 3 hp motor and serch for a use tank. It run between 105 psi to 140 psi and do a good job. The only down part is the drain plug is not a good place dain but overhall is a very good buy for my diy home shop!

Works well and good quality.

My old compressor reached end of the line and then I decided to build better new one and of corse needed new pump block. Quality/price -ratio is good and no obvious shortcomings or quality problems. Produces air quite fast. Shaft rotation is counter- clockwise and output is 3/4". It does not vibrate a lot when running. I use compressor mineral oil wit this unit and seems to work with no problems. Pumping 50 liter tank from 8 to 10 bar only takes about 30 seconds. I have not yet used this a lot, so far I'm satisfied and can recommend this product. Quick delivery.
