Durability

I bought the manual retractable awning in August 2026. Needed shade and cover from sun and rain over my front door. Followed instructions. Assembled and mounted it in place by myself. Took my time taking 2 days. The coverage is larger than most. Door is 36 inches, the awning is 79 inches. Retracts easily both ways with no hassle. I consider it a good purchase.

Helps keep the heat out of the house.

Needed something to help with the sun shining in the front window. My house sits facing West in front and East in back. I have three windows together in the Living Room and live in Texas. This awning was an answer to the problem. I am now in process of installing window film on the windows, 18 total. It does the job so well, l ordered and installed another for the two windows in the back bedroom. Thank you!

make sure you mount it high enough for the angle of drop

I bought mine a couple months ago and love it. One thing I did not anticipate, is the natural drop in height from the roller position. I handled it for now using some spare lumber and will have to think of something better. Additionally, I suggest providing 5 of the brackets, and instructions on using lag screws. I ended up drilling holes through the square tube and using 8" lags, screwing them through a ledger board I made straight to the studs. It's not going anywhere anytime soon lol. The overall quality is great and everything functions smoothly.

Great value

For the price, you can’t beat this awning. Went together pretty easily. The manual crank works well. Directions were clear. The only assembly problem was threading the large round nylon cord through the canvas, which got stuck about halfway. I pulled it back out, then threaded the smaller nylon cord through first then used black electrical tape to connect the smaller cord to the larger cord, then was able to pull the larger cord through.

Good Awning

For the price of this awning it’s a great value. Assembly instructions are less than stellar, but I’ve found that to be true for a lot of the brand's products. I had a challenge attaching it to my boat dock but was able to engineer a solid attachment and it provides much needed shade in my dock in the afternoon when we’re swimming and lounging on the lake. Overall, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this awning to someone looking for an inexpensive and very functional awning.

Was easy to put together and works great. Was hoping it would be a little more HD. I live in NE and we have a lot of wind here so the future will tell.

The awning is ok. Not a high end model. I had to add 8 more screws to the center of the coil to keep it completely round at that joint when rolling up. The fabric is too thin to me and when rolling up it bunches up and pulls to the right side The one arm on the right side sags compared to the left as well. I used foam tape and duct tape on the coil to get around this to a point. Anyway it's not perfect but it is installed and not worth trying to replace for the amount of times I actually open it.

Do NOT order

This product is horrible. None of the parts are leveled, you can figure it out as you go along. Ok no big deal... Then comes the manual poor image quality. Parts are left over as they are not in the manual, example part L. Manual says one wrench is needed, no biggie ok I'll use two. Page 10 has the plastic bracket shown the wrong way. The roller for the canopy and a sharp so I recommend shaving it so it doesn't cut the canopy. Also when inserting the plastic tubes in the canopy use water, its impossible to get them all the way unless you use a fish tape like I did... Parts were scratched upon arrival, with aluminum and paint it will seperate and bubble up. I emailed support, the 24/7 is useless. Expect email 48hrs later asking for pictures when I asked for clarification on the manual. Returning the product, does seem good quality but bad manufacturing process and really bad assembly manual.

If you are handy and do DIY stuff this shouldn't take too long to install. Instructions are ok but hard to follow at times. Overall very happy with this purchase

flimsy

I dont know if the issue is because of the size or its just underbuilt. It sags badly in the middle, the support pipe on the end bows under its own weight, so does the roller tube. The side support arms need to be length adjustable, they are to short when the awning is fully extended.

So far seems like a good quality awning for the price. Instructions have a little to be desired. I found instructions online and were able to zoom in on the instructions which made it clear for the steps to put together.

Good product. Sturdier than expected. Happy with that. User must go very slow with picture directions. Bigger font would be better. Last part with spring especially confusing. Also could be difficult at times to use screws as holes did not always line up well. 2nd one went together easier than first. Once up, great! One person can assemble it until it needs to be erected. Then you really need 2. Easy to use. Does the job well. Satisfied.

This is a great product that assembles easily, functionality is good, great adjustments easy to use. Only downfall is that the joints are weak and should be made a little tighter in order to prevent flexing. Overall great product for the price and functionality.

Everything and more. Directions are quite easy if you know diagrams as per part and pieces. Fabric is sturdy and water resistant. Haven't used it in a strong storm during hurricane season. Overall I would highly recommend. Bonus is the drape that comes with the set up. Great for protection at the front .

Installation nightmare for expert DIYer

Instructions are incredibly poor and skip some installation steps. I have so far spent over 12 hours building this and I am nearly done. To put into perspective how frustrating it is to build this awning, I have successfully built ikea stuff, installed windows/siding/roofing, built kids playgrounds, done major repairs on cars, and I do computer programming for my job. All of these things are easier and less frustrating than this awning.

The Tella arrived with two large holes that will surely only last me this summer session. I have contacted them and still haven't received an answer to my problem.

Horrible Instructions

Firstly, let me say that I have a lot of experience putting things together. I have put several pieces of furniture together this year and I have put together dozens of items in the past 5 years and probably over 100 in the past 40 years. It's a good thing I have a lot of experience putting kits together and I also have a very large assortment of tools, both manual and power. On this awning kit, the instructions were abysmally bad and confusing. I basically relied on the diagrams, crude as they were, and less so on the actual written instructions, which was often wrong or missing steps. The steps were all over the place and not in sequence. Most instructions go sequentially, page by page for put together furniture and other items. Not here. With all my experience and background in DIY projects it took me 4 hours to put this awning together and install it on my deck. Now for the positives. It does look nice and works very well. I've used it for two days now and I am impressed. Let's see how it does 30 days or 180 days from now. I will attach pictures. The location is on the back of the house on a large, wooden deck.

Been two years going on three. The mechanism still works. The fabric still looks good held up after a couple light wind storms. Good quality.

Was fairly easy to setup. Definitely a two person job. But easily extends and retracts. Very convenient shade..

Excellent, works great

I installed this yesterday and it’s an excellent product so far. It’s a little complicated to assemble because of three instruction guides that are redundant but the photos should be improved or combined. The ‘arms’ are spring loaded and zip-tied together and the ‘warning’ directly on the arm is unclear IMO. Great design overall. Roller works great, feels sturdy, nothing seems flimsy. My opinion is that if it was heavier it would harm more than help. I suspect the canvas will fade and deteriorate under direct sun/UV but that seems inevitable. I also suspect that very high winds will fold this without mercy, but again I believe this cannot be overcome without making it weigh hundreds of pounds and that is precisely the opposite of what the design hopes to solve. I would buy again without hesitation. Hire someone for install if you have any doubts.

Works great Perfect for my needs. Was a fairly easy install, despite some of the negative reviews, I had no problems with the install. Took me about 4 hours total to install. Needed a hand for a minute to place in the bracket. Other than that went smooth. Read the instructions. Don’t rush the install.

Pole holding the awning across the front was a 2 piece, and ended up breaking in the middle. For the price this was a good product...I would have rather paid 50% more for more of a durable product.

I've had this up for over a year now and works great. Was skeptical of purchasing because I was worried it would be "cheap". Works great for the money and was not too difficult to install with a helper.

Good option for shade

Setup was easy. There are times where you will need a second hand to assemble. It's been up for about a month. The only concern is you must remeber to retract it during windy days.

Cottage Life

We were looking for a roll-up awning for our patio and stairs at the cottage and decided to give this model a try as the Price was VERY appealing compared to other options. Delivery was pretty fast. Installation was also relatively easy minus a few hiccups as 1 section of the instructions were a little difficult to follow however easy enough to figure out. After several weeks of usage, I can say that though one of the arms does have a tiny sag over the 4 feet reach (even when adjusted as I suspect the machined part might be slightly out of tolerance), it isn't incredibly noticeable and the awning still functions perfectly! The insertion of the rubber line through the fabric loops were a little tough to do as it was sown rather tight but eventually was able to do it. awning is easy to extend and retract, does the job perfectly as needed and rolls away under the soffit and overhang! Very impressed overall! Even with the small installation hiccups, I would recommend this item if you are looking for a "trial" solution on a budget! A+!
