We process your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

What data we process and why

  • Identification and contact details, delivery and billing address — to process and deliver your order and to comply with tax obligations. Legal basis: performance of the contract and legal obligation.
  • Payment data — processed directly by the payment provider. We do not see or store your card details.
  • Order history and customer support communications (e-mail, form, chat and telephone) — to assist you and to handle requests and complaints. Legal basis: performance of the contract and legitimate interest.
  • Images sent for the personalised canvas — used solely to produce your order and deleted after the complaint period.
  • E-mail address for the newsletter, if you subscribe — legal basis: consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
  • Browsing data (cookies and similar technologies) — those necessary for the store to function and, only with your consent, those for statistics and marketing. See the Cookie policy.

Review request after purchase

If you have agreed to receive our marketing communications, after your order has been delivered we may send you an e-mail asking for your opinion on the items purchased. This request is sent only to those who have subscribed to marketing communications and, at most, once per delivered order. For this purpose we use your name, your e-mail address and the items in your order. Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR and Article 13-A of Lei n.º 41/2004, of 18 August). You may withdraw your consent at any time, free of charge, using the unsubscribe link included in every e-mail or in your customer account; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of previous mailings.

Who we share data with

Only with those necessary to sell and deliver your order: carriers, partner warehouses that ship directly, the producer of the canvases in the European Union, the payment provider, the store platform (Shopify) and our accountant. With your consent, we also share browsing data with Google (statistics and campaign measurement). We do not sell data to anyone.

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union; in that case, the transfer is carried out with the safeguards provided for in the GDPR (for example, an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses).

How long we keep data

Billing data, for the legal tax retention period; other order data, for the duration of the relationship and the legal guarantee period; marketing data, until you withdraw your consent.

Your rights

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection by writing to essenza@myessenza.eu. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (cnpd.pt) or with the supervisory authority of your country.
