Great Spreader

This is a really good peat moss / top soil spreader. I have been renting these hard to find units and decided to get one and its just as good as the rental. Easy to take apart to store it between seasons. Another good tool from the brand

Works Awesome

Purchased Sept 2026 to top dress yard with 50/50 topsoil/compose. Made spreading very easy and uniform. Reasonably priced, made well, easy assembly and works great

Poor construction

Simply garbage. One of the side latches wouldn't fully latch and the center locking holes wouldn't line up no matter what I did to fix it. This spreader needs center support desperately. It literally was used for 1 attempt at rolling and then put to the side for trash pickup. Maybe it's ok for hand pushing but I would never buy one with the purpose of pulling behind an ATV or tractor. Pure unadulterated garbage. A waste of $150. p.s. The brand's 100 lb capacity spreader is almost as bad.

Maybe good for small yard

I have 1.5 acres and this thing is just too small. It was easier and faster to dump topsoil all over and rake it. The spreader actually works really well spreading evenly. If it were at least twice the size it would probably be worth it. It became about impossible to shut all the way after the first time filling it up. After that it was super hard to close the final pin. Without that closed the spreader would leave a line all over yard. I used one time and sold online for half price.

Worked exactly how I was expecting. Was very easy to use and load up topsoil to top dress my lawn. Left a nice even spread and helped level the lawn slightly

Solid Product for a good price.

Solid product I don't understand the hate. It's built just as good as the landzie and cost a fraction. Yeah you have to build it but I did it solo in about an hour. The only "hard" part was lining things up so it fit as some parts were wonky solo but if you have someone with you cut that time in half if not more cause its easy as hell to make. Feels very solid and doesn't even weigh much. Everything is made out of metal so no cheap plastic crap and no missing parts or anything so you don't have to worry about that. Other than that made tossing down peat moss very easy.

Makes Topdressing Quick and Easy

This compost spreader has been a great addition to my lawn care equipment. Assembly was straightforward, and it’s built much sturdier than I expected. It rolls smoothly across the lawn and spreads compost, screened topsoil, peat moss, and other materials evenly without creating large clumps. The adjustable handle is comfortable to use, and the large drum covers a good amount of ground before needing a refill, making bigger lawn projects much faster. Cleanup is simple, and the overall construction feels durable enough to last for years with normal use. If you regularly topdress, overseed, or improve your soil, this spreader is absolutely worth the investment. It saves a lot of time and gives much more consistent results than spreading material by hand. Highly recommended!

It required some patience to assemble, screw holes didn't line up right away. The assembly instructions could be improved. I don't remember the details where they were lacking, didn't take notes while putting together. Once it was assembled, it worked great behind my lawn tractor. It could maybe use some accessory screen with smaller holes.

Very Useful Tool

The product definitely worked as advertised. Easy to assemble and very sturdy. You need to define what you are buying it for. I purchased 3 tons of dark top soil for part of my lawn. The base of my lawn is all sand so it struggles in hot weather. The dark soil was delivered in two bags. The 2'roller was perfect for the small areas of my lawn where I had to navigate gardens and trees. I covered each strip 3 times because I wanted to build a decent layer of good soil. I cut my lawn to 4" so most the soil dropped down between the existing blades of grass. Some raking was needed. When the top soil was dry it fell out of the roller like sand, which was fantastic. Some of the soil got moist in the bags and would roll up into little balls in the roller (about 10-15% of each fill up). I called these 'tailings'. I made use of the tailings by dumping them into damaged areas of lawn the sun had scorched the lawn and exposed the dirt. Since there is a lot of shoveling involved (first load a wheelbarrow and then load the spreader) I am going to rent a commercial spreader to cover the much larger open areas of my lawn. Works for Tumbling Oysters

I haven't tried it with compost yet, but it's perfect for tumbling live oysters. I raise oysters at my pier and need to periodically remove them from the water and tumble them to remove the sharp edges and stimulate the growth of a deep cup. This spreader works perfect for that.

Easy to put together and use

I bought this compost spreader to help me re-seed large areas in my yard. It was easy to put together and really easy to use. I found mixing one bag of compost and one bag of top soil was the perfect amount each time I filled the drum. It was tougher to load the peat moss into the drum, but that was due to the shape of the peat moss bag. I was able to finish my project in a few hours. I am very happy with my purchase. For reference, I am a 5'3" petite woman. It was a great size for me and I had no issues.

Way easier that manually spreading.

I used this spreader to top dress and overseed my lawn, and it made the job dramatically easier. It spread the soil evenly and as a bonus, kept larger chunks of wood and debris from my soil mix contained in the drum instead of ending up on the lawn. I saw some reviews mentioning issues with the latch coming loose or not staying locked, but I didn't experience that at all. The drum stayed securely closed throughout the project. Assembly took about an hour, but it was straightforward and easy enough. Overall, this was one of the best lawn care purchases I've made and saved a huge amount of time and effort compared to spreading soil by hand.

The compost spreader was very easy to assemble, straight forward design. The end caps are extremely durable. Time will tell if the powder coating remains intact, but initial impressions it is going to be durable.

Great quality and super easy to assemble! The 36” Compost Spreader arrived very well packaged with no damaged parts. I was impressed that all of the installation hardware and materials were included, and the instructions were simple and easy to follow. From opening the box to fully assembled, it only took me about 15–20 minutes. The setup process was straightforward and hassle-free. Overall, a solid product that was easy to put together and feels well made. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a compost spreader that doesn’t take forever to assemble or the high price tag as other brands.

Good Value with Some Caveats

Overall this does the job. I’ve used it for two small top dressing jobs and will be using it for a larger full yard leveling project soon. The unit is easy to assembly, has a decent fit and finish, but it should have included cotter pins to attached the handle bars instead of the thin clips. Also, the paint on the handle bar post that inserts into the lower arm of the handle bar started to chip after having for less than 60 days and it’s been stored in the garage and never rained on. Lastly, the unit doesn’t have a continuous roll. It’s more like a half roll to each section of the barrel with the flat black track and requires a little extra oomph to make it roll continuously. This is probably a good thing to help prevent the roller from getting away from you when fully loaded. Not a deal breaker for me. It’s still easy to use and maneuver. For the price and ease of use, I would still buy it again! I’ve attached photos of the unit and the work it helped me do.

Works perfectly!

Very pleased with this compost spreader. It's very easy to fill as the door opens up the whole width of the spreader. This worked perfectly by spreading an even amount of compost. I use the lawn tractor to tow it and now spreading compost is a breeze.

This thing had us floored how well it worked.

This thing with half a bag top broken up top soil and some compost works better than duct tape and that’s saying something. We were amazing at how well it worked all the junk from the compost stayed in the cage. Dumped it in a wheel barrow once the dirt all fell. Can’t say enough good about it. First use so no idea on how well the metal holds up. Probably gonna smack the spots scuffed up from moving it on concrete with a spray can just to save the metal cause it’s damn useful.

Works great. Soil needs to be dry to spread well, used kind of wet soil and it doesn't spread like it would if it were drier.

Fairly easy to build. Once assembled, one issue was that the swing door was bowed outward. So when you rolled the unit, the door hit the frame, preventing it from rolling. I bent the door in by hand and now rolls great.

Good product, a bit to narrow holes

Reasonable product for the price, but the holes are a bit to narrow, so it lets trough a bit to little

Quick delivery. Easy to assemble and use. Holds a standard 20l bag of compost no problem. Don't use in the wet however as the grid blocks up when compost gets damp. But excellent tool for the value

Spreader roller

I attempted to use to spread topsoil around lawn. This roller caused half of the topsoil to turn into unspreadable dirt balls. Maybe it works best for peat moss, but not topsoil.

Okay but

Easy to assemble, but unfortunately. As soon as I took it out of the box, paint was already chipping, and underneath the paint chips, it was already all rusted only down fall other then that was good. Needs better quality control inspection
