After building a carport trailer and using my Harbor Freight 2 ton shop hoist to lift the trusses with 128 strokes of the hand pump, I ordered this ram. It was a plug and play on the Harbor Freight shop hoist without any issues. I used it to swap motors in a friend's pickup and it worked great.

Great jack for the price

I’ve had a small block Chevy hanging off this jack for a month now and it hasn’t budged, holds pressure great and has a very smooth operation. 10/10 would recommend.

Works Great, But is an inch longer

Purchased this to replace the manual pump ram on my Big Red 2-ton engine hoist. The original ram was over 15 years old and still worked fine, despite some pitting on the shaft, but I wanted to replace it before it became a problem and upgrade to an air-operated unit at the same time. This was by far the most affordable option I found, and with its much higher weight capacity, I felt confident it would easily handle anything I’d realistically use it for. Installation was straightforward and it mounted to the hoist using the existing brackets and hardware. The only minor issue is that the overall length of the ram is about an inch longer than the original 2-ton unit it replaced. Because of this, the ram bottoms out before the boom arm can fully fold down. For me, this isn’t a major concern and it doesn’t affect the hoist’s functionality at all. I’ll probably modify the lower bracket and weld in a slightly lower mounting point at some point to correct it. Even knowing this beforehand, I still would have purchased this ram without hesitation.

Cumple su función. La extensión es muy muy lenta. Para nada es de 8 toneladas pero 3 las aguanta bien sin problemas. El sistema de apertura no es muy fino. El juego de la palanca de subida baila muchísimo es recomendable cambiarlo por un tornillo con rosca de freno para hacerlo más estable. Por el precio es una gran compra pero no para 8 toneladas

Great for replacing old worn out jack

Took 5 minutes to replace original jack. Works like a brand new cherry picker. And can’t beat the price. 5 stars.

Amazing price!

Fits and works on my old Pittsburgh engine crane! If I have any issues after pulling my motor I’ll update this review but it was a direct replacement and feels smooth. If you are coming from a ram with a double pump this will feel awkward and slow as this on only pumps on the down stroke. But great for the price!

Hydraulic jack is a winner.

The hydraulic jack has worked perfectly and fit my need perfectly as well. I have only used it on the 500 pound setting on my hoist, but again, I see no reason, it shouldn’t do just as it has on higher settings.

Lovely product at a very good price but so disappointed hydraulic control valve key is made from plastic as time goes by it will become brittle and break and will not last very flimsy why they never made this in metal I just don't know
