Does what it needs to. Holding up ok over 2 years of use. Metal is a bit on thin side, do be aware of how big of a fire you have going or you could cause it to deform.

The separate lid is a bit small but does work.

Its the only cover close to 28"firepit size. It barely fits on...design flaw!..it appears they made it for other brand firepits as they do mention that. But their own brand should fit PERFECTLY!!!

Veldig bra, men kan være vanskelig å åpne med den medfølgende stang, man må bruke både stangen og samtidig holde igjen den andre halvdelen. Om man ikke gjør det letter man hele gnistfangeren fra bålpanne. Utover det så er den faktisk og solid

Der Aufbau war etwas schwierig, da die Anleitung nicht sonderlich gut war. Das Produkt an sich ist super. Einfach zu bedienen und ist qualitativ echt hochwertig. Ich würde es auf jeden Fall wieder kaufen.

While I agree that it is a quality cover but the downside is that it is not 20 inches in diameter! Also it’s kind of a pain putting it together.

We have used the spark screen twice and it works well. It was difficult to put together, definitely need 2 people. The wrench they provided was cheap, we used a wrench we owned. The screen put out an odor the first time we used it. Despite the problems, I would buy it again.

It won't fit a 36' fire pit ring

I bought this because it stated 36' in. It is not 36'. It's 34' on the inside and 35' on the outside. It will not fit on 36' fire pit ring. See photos

Good quality screen at great price

Great quality spark screen. I really like how tall it is to give room for logs and create a large fire. It comes unassembled and took my husband about 20 minutes to put together but he said it was a simple build. The steel turns black immediately at the first fire, which was fine with me. Love that the screen opens. The price on this was excellent compared to comparable items. Would highly recommend.

Keeps the sparks down in my backyard firepit.

The spark screen does what it's supposed to. I've only used it a few times but so far I haven't seen a single spark get through while. It's nice to know that I can reduce the risk of the neighbouring forest burning down. Assembly was straight forward but some of the metal edges are sharp so have gloves ready if you're wary. I would suggest adding a jam-nut to the pivot bolts to prevent them working lose during usage and having the halves separate. Other than that, it's money well spent.

Praktischer, stabiler Funkenflug

Sehr schöner Funkenfang, der macht was er soll. Er schütz vor Funkenflug. Die Herren hatten zu zweit keinerlei Probleme beim Aufbau und das Ding ist auch relativ stabil und aktuell auch sehr leicht läufig. Die Zeit wird zeigen, ob das so bleibt. Wir nutzen es auf einer selbstgebauten Feuerstelle, welche mit Backsteinen umrundet ist. Hier passt die Hülle zwar perfekt rauf, bewegt sich aber beim auf- und zumachen. Schwiegerpapa wird sich hier noch eine Befestigungsmöglichkeit einfallen lassen, damit das Ganze an Ort und Stelle bleibt. Ansonsten bisher ein Top Teil.

Worth the assembly frustration IMO

I'm giving this item 4 stars because, despite some issues with assembly, it works really really well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was that there was a lot of difficulty getting the bottom holes to line up as the item was assembled. To be completely honest, I picked my battles and didn't finish all of them. As other reviews stated, the instructions are really lacking and if you have the muscle to make all those holes align, I applaud you. I got it to the point where I was happy enough with the overall stability and tightness of the bolts, and the ability to raise and lower half of the screen is incredibly useful. It fit my fire pit beautifully and I've had no issues with it. It has been out in the rain this week as well and I've seen no immediate signs of rusting.

Warped after first burn

The screen was fairly easy to put together and worked well before placing it on our pit to cover a small fire. After our fire burned down the screen warped and no longer slides open easily. I loved the idea of the opening "door" but will likely buy a regular domed screen without the opening capability.

Best spark screen out there. We use this thing at least once a week and have had it for two years...still no signs of holes in it like the cheaper made screens.

Sturdy, looks good. Snug but good fit for East Oak camber 21"

Not flimsy! Sturdy and good fit for my 21" East Oak Camber pit, which is 19" across and 20" diagonal diameter. It may scratch the fire pit a bit on the outside of the corners, so if you want less snug fit, you'll need a bigger size. It is snug at the corners and has a small gap elsewhere, so it won't slide around. It is not difficult to put on or take off, though. It does seem to smudge/pick up fingerprints very easily.

Made well. I did cut my self putting it together so be careful but it’s those little mesh ends can be pokey. Only thing I’m not a fan of is the opening feature . It seems nice for storing for sure. And if ur just have a patio fire pit. I may use the longer side bolts and put them into the top and put the smaller bolts into the side as. Bolt it together so it’s all one. With in completely modifying it get to see which I like better. I havnt had a fire with it I will update but so far very pleased. Was very easy to put together a monkey could have done it. So anyone say it its hard of doesn’t line up might be special.

I got the 40” screen. It is definitely 40” diameter. Took about 20 minutes to assemble. Not complicated at all. Cover is nice tall dome shape. It’s silver metal but don’t know if it’s true stainless yet. Time will tell. As good of materials and design as any other fire pit cover of this type I’ve bought before.

Great cover for a firepit. Fit my solostove bonfire perfectly. When not in use, the top is flat - which can be used as a beverage / snack table. It has been out for one winter - no rust.

it is easy to assemble--if you just look at how it is to work

we ordered this lid and it is amazing... although it takes a bit of wokr to assemble, i suggest you just consider the outside of the triangular pieces and then it is an easy assembly. it fits perfectly over our ring to contain the fire ashes, and it easily opens and closes. we are glad it is part of our firepit and enjoy this final touch to our pit set up for both safety and great look!

Note this is shown on the website along with the 28" fire pit but it is too small to fit securely over the outer diameter, which seems to be the intent. It is also too large to fit securely on the rim of the 28" pit. The 30" size probably what is needed for the 28" fire pit, but it is out of stock.

This stainless steel spark screen is something all should buy for their bonfires. No burning sparks shooting out to burn skin, a hole in clothes or seat cushions or embers to cause a fire. Perfect when there is an advisory with fire ban. The lifting of a side is so convenient to add more wood. Rounded high enough for a decent fire and allowing heat on the cooler nights. Nice there are different size choices. I have purchased 3 (2×40" & 1×36"). The 36" is a Christmas present.

This mesh cover is a great addition to your fire pit. I like the high dome shape to keep the flames further away, thus burning it out prematurely. Assembly was straight forward and easy. Some complain about fitment , (some people just like to complain about everything) what I think happened to those who say it doesn't line up is that they installed the A1 and A2 pieces on top of part "A", same for the "B" side. The pieces need to bolt under the main piece ie A & B Once together it's a nice piece. Personally , I did not want a 2 piece folding screen, but could not find one to my liking so I went with this one. It's beyond me why all the mfg's make the ring 36", what I mean is, my fire pit outer ring is exactly 36" so a 36" don't fit on a 36" ring, the screen should be like 37" or 38" so it would fit over, make sense? That being said the screen doesn't fit perfectly, I'm going to have to weld some tabs on my fire pit for it to fit on to make a better fit. Overall, I'd recommend this screen.

False advertising: not stainless, not rust resistant

False advertising. After 1 night of rain, the metal was rusting. It's not stainless steel. And it's not rust resistant. Lies. Never buying poor quality crap from the brand again

I needed a screen for my firepit that was bigger than 36 inches, this was the only one I could find. The parts did not fit together on half of it. This aaffects opening and closing. I would have returned it but it is the only cheap option.

This cover is only 19 inches across NOT 20 inches. It barely fit my 20 inch fire pit being it only 19 inches. Made it work but beware dimension is out 1 inch. Other than that it is a great cover thats why I gave it Good stars👌 but rated it low.

We have used the screen 4 times now and it has worked really well. It is easy to see the fire through and has not lost its shape due to the heat. It doesn't necessarily stay perfectly round when you are opening and closing it and moves around a bit on the blocks but no more than you would expect (it obviously does not have the weight or rigidity of cast iron). It went to together easily but the instructions lack a little. My only minor design issue is the handle placed at the top is not very useful when there is a fire going. I would much rather have both handles in the lower position so that it can be opened from either side to add wood. I went to drill holes for a new handle position and found the stainless steel of good quality (tough to drill through).

So far so good. Easy to assemble. Haven’t used it yet but looking forward to seeing it in operation. Hopefully I won’t burn seat cushions anymore but watching sparks landing on people I’m going to miss, lol.
