I bought 6 of them for our student rental. the quality and durability is still wait to be seen. I can only speak of the installation and my initial impression. build quality is solid. the entire assembly feels very solid, heavy in other words. installation: is fairly easy, but can be improved. this has something to do with the design. [read on] the design improvement ideas: 1. the keys travel a lot more than people commonly expected. I know it is due to the mechanical mechanism. But if you can change it to half the travel depth, it would be a lot more user-friendly. 2. The vertical layout. with most of the doors, the handles are at hip level. That means people have to look down to see the buttons. Making the keypad (or just the keys) slightly angled upward makes it easier to read and operate. 3. no lock to the unlock position. If a person leaves the room for a few minutes, there is no need to lock the door. But this keypad locks every time. 4. It requires a hole on top of the keypad to hold the keypad in place. This means if I don't want to use this keypad anymore, I have a hole to patch and paint. A better way is to have two screws on each side of the stem, like all other locks do…

Easy install if you've installed a door lock before

4.5 Stars. Ordered two of these door locks for the side gates to our house. Loved that we now have a programmable combination door lock for entry into our side yard. If you've installed a door handle type lock, this will be a straightforward install. There are extra shims and extensions if you have a non-standard depth door–thicker or thinner than usual that's not a prob with this lock system. Setting up the combination requires removal of the door handle––a simple procedure—if the handle is off. One thing to note: once you set your combination, the code can be entered in any manner (ex: if code is 1234, you could enter 4321 and that will still open the door). However, if you were to enter 123456, that would not work. Up to you to decide if that is a security issue or not.

Good but could be improved.

For my garage, this is a good substitute for a standard locking set as I no longer need to fetch a key every time I need access. The cost is reasonable and I will never worry about dead batteries. So far, it is working well for my purpose. However, there are some things to be aware of: 1. The code combinations are limited because you can only use each alphanumeric once, and; 2. The order of the code entry seemingly doesn’t matter. 3.. The instructions for changing the code are accurate but the indicator marks can be difficult to make out under poor lighting (or with old eyes), so make sure you “play” with it outside of the door until you are 100% happy with the way it works before you install it. 4. The bezel width just very barely covers an exiting hole for a standard North American lockset, which can make installation finicky on an existing door. You may even need to infill the old lockset hole with a round plug before drilling new holes for this unit. So, for a new door with no pre-existing hole, this would go much more smoothly than for a retrofit, I suspect. It would be nice if the kit included an infill plug for old doors, and maybe a slightly wider bezel for a bit more cover…

Working great after two years!

Installed these two years ago on the two doors of my newly installed fence. None of the fence installers I spoke with had good options for something like this, so I bought one to try it (and another one shortly after seeing the first one work). They are in the elements in Texas (sun, rain) and still look great. They have been working great and smoothly, exactly how I wanted. They can be opened from the outside with the code and from inside with the latch. And they are purely mechanical, so no battery! Made such a big difference vs the combination lock I had before (couldn’t be opened from inside)! Only thing I would change is that the little steel piece that connects the inside and outside latches was not long enough for me, so I had to weld them together to make a longer one. Would be great if the manufacturer makes an adjustable one which could be extended depending on door thickness.

Smaller than a normal door knob

It's a bit smaller than a normal door knob so it only just barely covers the hole in the door. It would be nice if the knob was regular sized instead of baby sized. But it's a good solid latch and lock. It seems really well made. It works well, doesn't need any battery or app or anything.

Ich habe das Codeschloss bei mir zu Hause installiert, und es funktioniert absolut einwandfrei. Die Bedienung ist zuverlässig, der Code lässt sich leicht einstellen, und die automatische Verriegelung ist sehr praktisch. Ich bin wirklich zufrieden und werde das Schloss definitiv noch einmal kaufen.

This is great for some situations like mine. It’s a 6 on quality, a 5 on ease of use and a 6 on ease of install. I had to flip the internals for my gate.

Worked great for my application on a wood gate. I can now unlock the gate from either side. Previously my combo lock was on the outside which meant I had to unlock it from the outside. Looks very clean and professional.

This is quite honestly a really interesting approach to keyless entry because it completely removes one of the biggest failure points you get with electronic locks: ***batteries**** With this particular Lock, you will never experience a battery drain, there’s no low-power lockouts, and no scrambling to replace cells in bad weather or at inconvenient times. In that sense, it feels very reliable and almost “old-school in a good way.” True Set and forget! Once the code is set, it’s a very set-it-and-forget-it system. For a door where you don’t expect to change access often, that simplicity is a real advantage. You’re not dealing with firmware, power issues, or anything electronic that can degrade over time. It just works mechanically. That said, the tradeoff is absolutely in the setup and adjustments. Changing the code is not something you casually do, you basically have to take the lock apart to reconfigure it. That’s not difficult in a technical sense, but it is inconvenient enough that you really want to be confident in your code choice from the beginning. Solid lock once installed

This lock feels solid and is convenient because it does not need batteries or Wi-Fi. Once installed and adjusted correctly, it works well for a gate or outdoor door. Installation takes a bit of patience, especially to get the alignment right, but the final result is good.

Relatively easy to install and great value for money. The only issue I had was with the bar length. The bar was too short and slipped out of the licking mechanism when installed so I had to extend and wedge it in with a cut piece from the 2nd bar. Once installed it's operating perfectly.

Ei nyt vielä talvesta oo kokemusta, mutta tähän asti ajanu asiansa erittäin hyvin verrattuna siihen, että sähköllä toimiva olis maksanu alkaen 1500. Paristokäyttöstä ei voinu laittaa kun halli on kylmää tilaa myös sisältä. Jos lisävarusteena olis ollu tarjolla joku kätevä läpinäkyvä sääsuojakotelo niin olisin ostanu sen samalla. Suomes on kuitenki pakkasta jopa -40C, nii pakko tollasella mekaanisella olla sääsuoja. Suosittelen, on laadukkaan tuntunen, eli ei mitään kiinan roinaa.

Worth to buy

The lock is made from metal, so it seems durable and should last for a long time. It’s not complicated to install, and programming the code is simple. However, there are a couple of downsides: First, you can't combine two keys together. Second, the code isn’t ordered. For example, if you set your code to 1234, you can also unlock it with 4321. This means that if you set a 4-digit code, your lock will recognize 24 possible combinations, which slightly reduces security. That said, it's not a huge issue since the lock has 14 buttons, which allows for 16,383 possible combinations, making it quite secure overall.

Fantastic product, pretty straight forward to install, had everything in the DIY kit to install on my outside steel gate, that allowed for death and thickness needed for installation. Super happy!!! Sadly I scratched it pretty badly on the installation!
