Best chimney sweep I own

You just need a drill, and this sweep works pretty well. I only had manual ones before but those are a bit cumbersome to use.

Invaluable tool

Invaluable tool, only issue is comes apart when transversing 2 90 degree bends in chimney. Tricky to remove when this occurs.

Arrived on time and did a pretty good job of cleaning the chimney. It is a bit of a pain to disconnect the rods (buttons are hard to push in) but I'd rather that than them coming apart. I would recommend.

Très bon produit , les fil sont changeable avec du fil a débroussailler par exemple et on peut donc aussi choisir son diamètre. Pour ma part il manque quelques mette de rallonge 6m cest trop peu mais le boulot est très bien fait

I used it 2 times. First I used on a high RPM and it made a lot of dust and dirt, but with lower RPM its more manageable. Bit cumbersome to disassemble the rod parts.

Ricevuto oggi pomeriggio. Tutto perfetto. Pulito la vecchia canna fumaria in mattoni (sezione rettangolare) che il vecchio proprietario non deve aver mai pulito. Quindi almeno 20 anni di uso. La canna fumaria era intasata in modo drastico a metà del suo corso (4m). La spazzola non passava al primo colpo. Ho avuto molta resistenza ma dopo 5 o 6 tentativi sono riuscito a sbloccare tutto!! Fantastico. 8m Di canna hanno prodotto 5 secchi di creosoto!. Ho passato poi 4 volte la spazzola girevole per tutti gli 8m di canna che ha prodotto circa 5 secchi di creosoto. Consumo della spazzola impercettibile. Aste molto sporche ma lavate e tutto è OK. Sono molto contento e soddisfatto. P.S. Non usate il guanto in dotazione durante il lavoro perché si attacca all'asta. Mio errore. Grazie

Pleasantly surprised.

Read negative reviews and decided to duct-tape the joints. From the bottom, the 90 degree angle through the cleanout felt too tight when I tried to rotate by hand. I then ran it down from the roof past 2 bends in the chimney pipe and was able to turn the mechanism easily at full drill speed. Lots of creosote came down to the cleanout. Better than my stiff poles and wire brush.

Second year using these

Second year using these and very pleased with purchase, couple of tips for general usage. I used a baked bean tin with 50mm of oil to stand the rods in before use, the pop in buttons can sometimes be a bit sticky especially if left for a year or two, oiling this way prevents the spring inside getting rusty and allows the button to engage smoothly. Once the button engages I would just gives it a wiggle from side to side, up and down to make sure, by doing this I have yet to have a rod or worse still the brush come off half way up the chimney. Would definitely recommend to budding chimney sweeps.

I had been wanting to get my log burner flu cleaned for a while, figured it couldn’t be that hard to do it myself. So took a punt on the kit. It arrived promptly, locking mechanism on the rods seems secure, rods were flexible enough to go through my stove door and round the angles in the chimney, I had no issues using it. Wondered whether my cheap battery drill would rotate it OK, but it did with no problems. Wondered if the brush would be effective, certainly seemed to be, plenty of soot was brought down into the stove. Very happy with the purchase, see no reason I can’t be using it to clean my flu for the next twenty years.

Pretty sturdy setup

Pretty sturdy pole setup. I used all but two poles for a two story wood burning stove pipe. I also used a shop vac as well with this. The bristles aren't as stiff as I expected.From what I can tell, it did the trick. Would recommend to anyone not wanting to fork over the change to pay for a cleaning. If you're even slightly handy, it's pretty easy. Took about an hour or so. Will hit it with occasional creosote to keep it in good shape!

First-rate product_ cleaned my chimney (metal liner) in about 30 minutes and saved $200. But the _anual that was included was absolutely worthless (clearly written by a non-native speaker, who is pretty dumb). Fortunately I have a friend who is an ex-chimney sweep and he gave me some tips: 1) work from the inside/bottom and shove the brush up to the top until it hits the cap; 2) work slowly down the chimney reversing the drill_ direction before you move on; 3) dove your shop vac hose into the chimney along with the drill (and have a good filter/bag); 4) when you get to the end, go easy on the speed because it gets unstable/crazy. Do this and it_ a piece of cake. When I finished I got on my roof and sang Step in Time.?

Needs a powerful drill

It's a good product for the money, the connections are solid and the tubes bend wonderfully. Very easy to use, but I'm short and when I was on the roof, the pole had to be bent almost 180 degrees so that my drill could attach to it. Unfortunately, the drill wasn't powerful enough to turn the rods at that angle. A taller person may have had better luck perhaps.

The whole thing is easy to use, clips together easy and is flexible. Beware though it is quick and you need to have good control of the rod when spinning. I would suggest you have a second pair of hands with you when using.
