Great find for my Mom

I purchased the retractable side awning for my mother's upper deck patio. She wanted privacy while on the upper deck. Also the awning makes for a great backdrop for a movie projector.

It is well made, great quality, very sturdy, super easy to install, wish it was 1 foot taller so it reaches the top of my patio cover.

These shades are better than advertised. The only flaw that I see is if you have high winds, you might not wanna leave these open because they do stretch very easily but other than that on a nice calm day, these things are excellent. They go back easily. they come out easily as long as you install the hardware correctly you’ll love these for the price.

Great product, good quality and easy to install

We were needing something to block the afternoon sun on our pool deck. We did lots of research and considered several option before deciding on this retractable side awning. It looks so good installed and is perfect to help with our late afternoon sun issue. We plan to get a sectional so installed in the outside of the railing plus we installed it a bit higher to allow for airflow above and below. I highly recommend this shade. It is very well built and easy to install and roll out

Great privacy screen. Easy install. Good price. I bought two of them to block in my hot tub corner on my deck, they work great. I used a big ol zip tie to help secure the freestanding post to the deck canopy post just for piece of mind. Just to keep it from pulling hard on that post if a big gust of wind comes up.. Great buy!!

I have been really impressed with the quality and sturdiness of this privacy awning. It has been able to handle some fairly high winds, and the real mechanism flexed in and out while it handled it with no problem. It is an excellent privacy screen that can be retracted anytime you want. In the retracted state it is still kind of noticeable, but really not a big deal. I didn’t use the walking bar part, I bought some nice straps and used the balcony railing. I’ll try to take some pictures, but no guarantee. I can figure it out. I bought a second one after a few weeks if that is any indication of my opinion of this product.

Privacy, at last!

Was pretty simple to put up! Allows us the privacy we were looking for. Not meant to be pulled open on a windy day. Get as close to the measurement that you need in order to have a firm pull and fit, otherwise the wind can really carry it. We are pleased with our purchase!

Made few adjustments like instead of attaching screen to house I put in a wooden fence post and attached it to the post. But it works as it should and I'm pleased.

Works well as a wind break

West winds have been stronger this year. Installed this on a gazebo post to pull out when I am grilling. Gusts up to 20mph do not affect it. Much stronger than that I probably won’t be grilling anyway. FYI that the concrete anchors are metric and require a 12mm bit. Lucky I had one for my SDS drill. Read online that using a 1/2” bit instead allow anchors to pull out.

Aluminium framed Privacy Screen

There a lot of cheaper Privacy Screens out there that are steel and they will rust. These are well made and sturdy and reasonably easy to install. However, the 6m length screens may not cope so well in very windy conditions, but, they work out cheaper than two 3m Screens.

Bought 3 for a 12x10 gazebo. Best freaking thing I’ve ever bought for a gazebo on a deck.. i can utilize my gazebo for company - shade/privacy .. and utilize it during winter as shed (to be tested in winter) as it now has roll out walls. Fantastic

High quality screen and hardware

Extremely nice quality. Just ordered a second one and had trouble finding the black in the size I need because they are selling quick. The recoil spring and thickness of the screen are great! Inhad to modify my mounting but it turned out great.

Just....why

Paper stickers on the metal of a brand new product?! Why?! Also the anchors provided are not for masonry. There are concrete anchors for the holding post, but the large part with the actual screen has plastic anchors.

Great product. Weathered through a Toronto winter still looks new. Slightl stretching , fabric held fantastically even with the blizzard we had here. If I were to change anything I would offer more length an height options. Mine is about 4 ft short of what I needed 14 ft to latch pole an 6” too short.( I mounted it on my balcony. Overall fantastic good looking sturdy product. I have some great upscale marketing ideas for this one.

Mounted this between the legs of a metal pergola on the deck to use as a wind-block for the outdoor kitchen area. Mounting was easy with the included brackets, and it looks great.

Actually turned out pretty good, better than expected. Connected to a shed wall because I thought both sides had the option to bolt down but only one side does.

Great product! We use it for added privacy around our hot tub. When not is use it doesn’t obstruct the view. When in use it is perfect for blocking the neighbors view of us in the tub. I had hoped if a little thicker fabric but all in all the perfect product for our needs. I would definitely recommend it.

Keep out of high winds and use your own fasteners.

Had for a couple of years now, need some lube and tension maintenance. I would not leave out in above 20 km/h (12.5 mph) winds as damage may occur. Have had some damage happen in 30 km winds. My own fault. Made my own concrete base and used 5/16 quick bolts as I could not find a 10mm sds drill bit.

Very Happy With My Retractable Side Awning!

I am very happy with the Retractable Side Awning! I ordered the 71"H x 136"W in beige. It was very easy to install although I had to build out my Trex railing to attach it to because I did not want to put holes in the aluminum siding. Even though it does not directly face the pole the handle attaches to, I am able to pull the awning out and wrap it over slightly to meet the pole. I purchased this side awning for privacy from my neighbors when I am outside on my deck.

A way to get past your HOA!

HOA wouldn't let us install a privacy fence so we used two of these to enclose our townhome yard when we want, and make the "fence" disappear when needed!

Great solution to dividing a public deck

We purchased this side awning to use as solution to dividing a shared deck between two cabins on our small resort property. It works great for that and looks sharp. When guests rent both cabins we can open it and allow them the entire deck space. When separate guests rent the two adjoining cabins the divider can be pulled to give each group their own space and privacy. We've only had it for one season, but it has made it through the summer in great shape, and it looks like it'll last at least a few seasons. If it lasts 3 seasons I feel that replacing it at the cost is still a deal for the solution it provides.

Customized Placement of Privacy Screen

We lost a great deal of yard privacy when a few well grown shrubs needed to be replaced. So while the new plantings grow, I researched a way to create the needed privacy. Grateful to find this retractable screen through the brand. My unique usage called for some customization because I lacked the needed wall to mount it to. So I made up a steel pipe with brackets, 1" black pipe and some flat stock. I then drilled the needed hole in the concrete patio to set it in. Other than the custom aspect, the installation was easy. Great product, works as advertised

We used this to block two extremely bright commercial lights that shine into our backyard over our privacy fence. It took a bit of creativity to install because we were not attaching it to the house. We had to sink a 4x4x12 into concrete for a stable mounting surface, but after that, it worked great!

PERFECT Windscreen for Grill Area

Instead of bolting the 'receiving end' into the stamped concrete, we drilled through the metal and attached with 4 lag bolts to the pergola post. Works great! High Quality.
